Ting Yuan, Assistant Professor in Early Childhood Education/Literacy, holds an EdD and an MA in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research interests include digital literacies in education, teacher education, children’s popular culture, and multimodality in early childhood learning environments. Before joining the College of Staten Island, Ting served as an instructor at Teachers College for three years, teaching early childhood practicum and literacy education courses. Ting was also a research associate at Teachers College EdLab, as the resident expert designing online courses and professional development opportunities on digital literacies and cyberbullying. Ting graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law, Shanghai, China, where she studied English Literature and Law. She also taught the children of migrant workers in an urban school in Shanghai.
