Dr. Epshteyn graduated with a PhD in Pedagogical Sciences from Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia and a Specialist degree in Mathematics from Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute. He comes to CSI’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction from the Department of Educational Management at Saint Petersburg State University where he has been an associate professor since 2009. He also leaves behind his role as the head of the School League ROSNANO, a government sponsored program aimed to develop STEM education in Russian Schools. He is interested in alternative and innovative education, comparative pedagogy, and the history of education. He has authored and coauthored five books and over 30 articles addressing different aspects of education. His recent research has been in renewing Science Education by developing and integrating innovative curriculum and textbooks in science education in secondary schools.
