The 12th annual CUNY Women’s Leadership Conference, under the leadership of the Council of Presidents’ Women’s Leadership Initiative Committee, and co-sponsored by The New York Times in Education will take place on Friday, Oct. 28 at Hunter College/CUNY, 68th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. Registration and Buffet Breakfast will run from 8:15am to 8:50am and the program will run form 9:00am to 4:00pm.
The goal of this invitation-only conference is to inspire women students with demonstrated leadership qualities to further develop their skills and realize their potential as leaders. Perhaps the most important feature of this conference for the students who attend is that they have been especially selected to participate by their college presidents (via invitations extended by on-campus coordinators). The significance of this invitation sets the conference tone; students feel the empowerment of being acknowledged and rewarded.
I am honored to be sending out this Call for Nominations for this year’s conference, themed “Attributes of Leadership: Pathways to Success.” Please consider nominating worthy students at all levels (freshman to graduate) to participate in the conference. A total of ten students will be selected among those nominated. Nominations must be received by Monday, Oct. 3, 2016.
To nominate one or more students, please complete the CUNY Women’s Leadership Conference nomination form online.
Please be sure to include the following information with each nomination: student’s name, CUNY EMPL ID#, address, cell phone number, email address, and a statement of support. Please confirm your nominees’ availability to participate in advance of submitting nominations, if possible.
Additionally, CSI is able to invite three faculty members to attend the conference. If you are interested and available to attend, please contact Carol Brower, Director of Student Life, at carol.brower@csi.cuny.edu.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
