The College of Staten Island men’s basketball team is still looking for its first road win of the season, and they will look for it this afternoon when they travel to Jamaica, NY to take on CUNYAC opponents York College this afternoon at 3:00 pm. The Dolphins are 2-4 overall so far this season, with their two wins coming against Yeshiva University and John Jay College. The Cardinals of York College enter tonight’s game with an overall record of 0-5 and 0-1 in the CUNYAC.

Players To Watch (CSI): Kevon Murphy had a career night on Thursday night, pouring in 24 points in the game, 20 of which came in the first half. Murphy was reaching the hoop with ease all throughout the first half, which led to the Dolphins having a half time lead. Khaleeq Baum leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game while adding 13.8 points per game, good for second on the squad.
Players To Watch (YC):.Ryan St. John is leading the charge for the Cardinals so far this season, averaging 14.2 points per game. Ryan Smart is having an outstanding season so far this season and is averaging a double-double with 13.6 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. Sasha Clarida has tallied 10 steals this season which is most on the team and the Dolphins will need to watch out for his quick hands.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have yet to win away from their home court this season but are coming off of their highest scoring output of the year. Staten Island has averaged just 69 points on the road this season but they poured in 93 in their loss against Stevens on Thursday night. Over the last five meetings against York College, the Dolphins have won four of them by an average of 12 points. The last time the Dolphins lost at York’s home court was on February 3, 2010 where they fell 61-102.
