Welcome back. I am pleased to share the Fall 2017 calendar for programs at the Faculty Center for Professional Development. Please join us for as many as you can. All sessions are in the Library (Building 1L), Room 203.
In addition to workshops and presentations, we will be hosting two faculty-interest groups or FIGs, this semester. FIGs are faculty-initiated and facilitated groups focusing on topics or interests identified by faculty members (and/or staff members). The groups meet periodically throughout the semester, and may continue to meet even longer. The two FIGs beginning this fall are:
-Diverse Faculty FIG. For information, contact Lara Saguisag (lara.saguisag@csi.cuny.edu)
-CUNY Unlimited: Developing University Design Strategies Guided by the Melissa Riggio Model. For more information, contact Kristen Gillespie (kristen.gillespie@csi.cuny.edu) or Ife Okoh (ife.okoh@csi.cuny.edu).
Please contact me if you are interested in beginning a FIG, this semester or later in the academic year.
There will be a meeting of the Faculty Center Advisory Group on Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. This meeting is open to anyone who would like to offer feedback on the Center’s programming and suggestions for future programs and resources that the Center may provide.
Please remember that the Faculty Center lounge is open to the faculty as a quiet place to work, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Faculty members can also reserve the Center’s meeting space for meetings with other faculty and staff members through the Center’s Website.
Please contact me with any questions, suggestions, or comments about the Faculty Center.
Best wishes for a great semester.
