Below is an update on the next phases of the Loop Road construction project.
Phase 7: Phase 7 by parking lot #4 is on schedule to be completed today, Tuesday, Dec. 19.
Phase 3: The next section is the remaining portion of Phase 3 by parking lot #2. This phase will start on Wednesday, Dec. 20 and be completed within about a week. This work will close the two western entrance/exit access points to the parking lot. Access will be available through the southern-most entrance, which will be converted to two-way traffic during the week that this work will be taking place.
Phase 6: Following Phase 3, the final remaining section of Phase 6 outside of parking lot #3 will be completed. That work is expected to begin the week of Dec. 26 and be completed within a week. Access to parking lot #3 will be through the two northern-most entrances. During this phase, all traffic from the back gate will be diverted left around the campus.
Phase 8a: Weather permitting, on Tuesday, Jan. 2, the contractor will move on to the next section of Loop Road, identified as Phase 8a on the online map. This work is expected to take up to two weeks to complete. If we are not able to proceed on to that section, we will update the community.
When these four phases are complete, a little more than 75% of the project will be completed. That is more than 1.5 miles of roadway, gutters, and drainage that has been replaced in a little more than four months. We are grateful to DASNY and NY Asphalt for their efforts to get this work done quickly.
