Association Professor of Sociology and Anthropology Saadia Toor shares scriptwriter credit for a film that recently screened at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is called Manto and is a biopic of a major South Asian literary figure, Sa’adat Hasan Manto. Toor also focuses on Manto in her scholarship on cultural politics in Pakistan and India in the mid-20th century.
