During this incredibly difficult economic time for our recent alumni, The Center for Career and Professional Development is happy to inform the College community about a new resource offered by Braven. Due to the challenging labor market, Braven is offering a virtual career boot camp to our Class of 2020, free of charge until April. Because it has been historically cost-prohibitive for us to purchase Braven resources, we encourage alumni to use this time-limited free resource.
The Braven Career Booster, a two-week virtual boot camp, will help alumni brush up on their job readiness skills. The boot camp will include developing a strong resume and LinkedIn profile, an understanding of the challenging job market, mapping out plans A, B, and C to launch one’s career, soft skills, access to a network of professionals and peers, a 1:1 coaching session, and much more. It’s perfect for graduates who are either unemployed or underemployed.
With a labor market that has shifted, we want to make sure that our alumni are prepared to land a job worthy of their degrees. We also want to remind our students that they are incredibly talented, hard-working, and resilient, and that the College of Staten Island community believes in their ability to create the future they have always dreamed of, and we are here to support them on their journey.
More information on how to register will be forthcoming. Although we will be contacting members of the Class of 2020 directly, please feel free to pass this information along to the January, June, and August 2020 graduates you continue to mentor.
