Hear Dr. William Bronston, M.D., speak about his book Public Hostage Public Ransom: Ending Institutional America. Bronston advocated for change at the Willowbrook State School and played a role in the closure of the facility that was located where CSI is today. He will discuss how it was possible to effectively confront New York State and force Willowbrook’s closure. A long-time advocate of universal health care, he will also discuss his approach to ending institutional care in the United States.
