I am happy to report that we were very successful in our recent effort to meet CONED’s Demand Response targets for the College and we greatly appreciate everyone’s cooperation and support.
An additional request has been made for CSI to reduce our energy consumption, this afternoon and evening, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm to help ensure stability in the energy supply. This time, CUNY and institutions throughout all five boroughs are being asked to participate.
As a reminder, building temperatures will increase slightly, but we do not anticipate any rooms, halls, or other spaces being warmer than the NYC Cooling Season guideline of 78 F.
If you have concerns about specific areas, please contact the Central Plant at 718.982.3204 or 718.982.3205. We will be monitoring the temperatures closely.
CSI may be asked to reduce energy consumption again while temperatures are extreme and we will do our best keep the College community informed. With the support of CSI students, faculty, and staff, we are grateful to be in a position to respond positively when critical issues affect the surrounding communities in Staten Island and the City.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
