Join us for “The Philadelphia 11 and the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Ordination of Women as Priests in the Episcopal Church” on Saturday, Mar. 9 at the Church of the Ascension (1 Kingsley Avenue, Staten Island) from 10:00am to 4:00pm
Open to all faiths, this event marks the 50th anniversary of the ordination of women priests in the Episcopal Church, an incredibly important moment in U.S. religious life and an important historic threshold for women in this country.
The event will feature a panel discussion on feminist theology with author Dr Julie Faith Parker, PhD, of the Union Theology Seminary (author of Eve isn’t Evil).
Admission is free with pre-registration; breakfast and lunch will be provided.
There will also be a screening of new documentary The Philadelphia 11
CC and PG CLUE credit are available.
