The Staten Island Advance recently shed light on a recent report issued by Rutgers’ University Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, that noted sinking, or subsidence of New York City as ocean levels rise. One of the highest rates of subsidence is at Midland Beach, Staten Island, and Prof. Benimoff gave insight into what the study means for the area and for the City as a whole.
