The Bertha Harris Women’s Center’s Summer of Love continues today at noon in Building 2N, Room 106.

Please join us for week eight and the last installation of Bertha’s Summer of Love at the Women’s Center. Come and learn about Kawandi, a style of patchwork created by Eastern Africans working in the textile factories in India. We will make a small Kawandi-inspired piece. All levels of stitching experience can make these joyful and colorful pieces.

Keep an eye open for more slow-stitching and textile history workshops later in the year. We will be examining even more women’s textile traditions, including Palestinian embroidery and French lace making,  among other expressions of women’s voices through stitching.

Join a community of friendly stitchers, relax, learn, hang out, and just have fun. All  supplies will be provided, along with snacks and drinks.

All are welcome at this free event: students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
