The College of Staten Island’s Department of Media Culture is inviting the campus community to It’s the Time of the Season, an experimental gathering that includes a conversation, presentation, lunch, refreshments, and karaoke, Tuesday, November 12, from 2:30-4:30pm in the Center for the Arts, 1P-223.

It’s the Time of the Season is an interactive public event presented by Prem Krishnamurthy and Sam Rauch: Department of Transformation (DOT)

Amid a deepening crisis of isolation and loneliness, how might art and design function as ways of reconnecting at both individual and communal scales? In this participatory talk, Prem & Sam frame how art and design can prototype new formats for togetherness, learning, and collective healing.

Sharing a selection of references, strategies, and methods, DOT will provide tools for others to adapt and use. The talk’s experimental format itself plays with ways of bringing people together in unexpected ways. Audience participation is encouraged.

Sponsored by the Department of Media Culture, College of Staten Island, CUNY and Social Practice CUNY. Refreshments and snacks provided by the Office of the Dean of Humanities, College of Staten Island, CUNY.
