As freezing temperatures approach, please remember to turn on the heating units in all offices and classrooms before you leave to prevent pipes from bursting. Ensuring that the heating units stay on overnight during freezing temperatures helps keep the pipes warm and reduces the risk of damage caused by freezing.

What to do:

  • Turn on the heating units if the forecast calls for extremely cold temperatures. Remember, heating is on for all units when temperatures go below 55°F.
  • Ensure the heat is on before you leave.
  • Report any issues with the heating units immediately to our Central Plant, 718.982.3205/3204.

Your cooperation is essential in protecting our campus buildings from costly water damage. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Stay warm and safe.
