We are excited to share that this summer, the Office of Recruitment and Admissions will host five in-person New Student Orientation (NSO) sessions for our incoming freshmen and transfer students. NSO is a mandatory pre-semester program designed for all new students entering with fewer than six transfer credits. It’s an important first step in helping students get comfortable with the CSI campus, learn about our academic programs, and prepare for a successful start to their college experience.

Beyond providing key information about campus resources and services, NSO gives students the chance to connect with peers, meet faculty and staff, and engage with our New Student Mentors — setting the stage for lasting connections and a strong sense of community at CSI. Our goal is to ensure that every student feels welcomed, supported, and ready to thrive.

Students are required to attend one of the sessions below, all held in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P):

  • Wednesday, July 2, 9:30am – 3:15pm
  • Wednesday, July 9, 9:30am – 3:15pm
  • Tuesday, August 19, 9:30am – 3:15pm
  • Friday, August 22, 9:30am – 3:15pm
  • Monday, August 25, 9:30am – 3:15pm (Dolphin Cove students only)

As part of the day’s events, we will also host a Student Services Fair in the 1P Atrium from approximately 2:00pm to 3:15pm at each session. This Fair is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the services and programs that support our students’ success throughout their first year and beyond.

If your department or program would like to reserve a table and participate, please contact John Kim, New Student Programs Coordinator, at John.Kim@csi.cuny.edu or 718.982.2012 by Friday, June 20.

Thank you for helping us welcome and support our newest Dolphins.
