College of Staten Island student Daniel Bayer has been named to City & State New York Magazine’s prestigious 2025 Staten Island Trailblazers list, recognizing remarkable residents who are shaping the future of Richmond County. Compiled annually by City & State’s editorial team, the Trailblazers list highlights community leaders, public servants, innovators, and advocates whose work is making a significant impact across Staten Island.
Bayer earns his place among this year’s honorees for his impressive civic leadership at a young age and his commitment to public service. As Board Chair of the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG), one of the state’s most influential political advocacy nonprofits, Bayer plays a central role in shaping the organization’s direction and guiding its board meetings and operations. Remarkably, he has done so while simultaneously managing his coursework at CSI.
