Former College of Staten Island men’s basketball coach and Hall of Famer Evan Pickman was among those honored this past weekend with induction into the Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame, a recognition of his lasting impact on the borough’s athletic community.

Pickman, a member of CSI’s inaugural Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2012, built one of the most successful eras in program history, guiding the Dolphins to multiple championships and an elite winning percentage during his tenure. His latest honor underscores a lifetime of contributions to the game both on CSI’s campus and beyond. The recognition was highlighted in More than memories: Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame celebrates Class of 2025 by the Staten Island Advance reporter Kayla Simas, which detailed the ceremony and celebrated this year’s class of inductees.
