On the eve of Commencement last week, CSI proudly celebrated its 15th Annual Lavender Graduation, honoring LGBTQ+ graduates and recognizing their academic accomplishments, resilience, leadership, and contributions to the campus community. Hosted by the LGBTQ+ Resource Center, the ceremony provided a meaningful opportunity for graduates, families, friends, faculty, and staff to come together in celebration ahead of Commencement.
This year marked the fifteenth year that CSI has hosted Lavender Graduation, making it the longest-running Lavender Graduation celebration in the CUNY system. In 2026, we honored 16 new graduates, adding to the more than 145 graduates who have participated in this meaningful tradition over the years.
