Optimize Accessibility of Your Course Materials with ALLY in Brightspace (virtual session)

Designing with accessibility in mind improves ease of use and access to your content for everyone. Ally is a technological tool, already integrated into Brightspace, designed to help instructors improve the accessibility of online course content by flagging content that is not accessible and suggesting ways to make it accessible. This workshop will showcase the Accessibility Report in Brightspace and walk you through how to address common accessibility opportunities that Ally rates poorly. Examples of word docs or PDFs of a syllabi or reading materials, videos, photographs, PowerPoint or Google slides, etc., will be demonstrated.

Creating Quizzes in Brightspace

RSVP: October 14 from 11:am – 12:00pm, held via ZOOM

This workshop will demonstrate how to build and edit quizzes using varying question types (i.e., True/False, Multiple Choice, Multi-Select, Short Answers, or Written Response, etc.). You will also learn how to build a bank of questions (question library or question pool) that you can use to create a randomized set of questions, or a quiz that shuffles the order of the questions. You will be invited to reflect and consider how to customize your quizzes with accessories that limit time, allow multiple attempts, restrict availability to a specific date/time, and how to use special access to limit date/time for individual students.
