The award-winning, critically acclaimed film Liberty Kid, winner for Best Feature at the New York International Latino Film Festival will be screened at CSI on Friday, Apr. 10 at 7:00pm in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Recital Hall.
The director, Ilya Chaiken, a Brooklyn-based independent filmmaker will be at the screening and will conduct a Q&A session after the film. More info is available here.

The Alumni Relations Office, in collaboration with the Career and Scholarship Center, presents “An Alumni Stimulus Package,” a special program intended for our alumni who have been affected by job loss or who face threatened job security in the current economy. The event will take place on Tuesday, Apr. 14 in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Recital Hall from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Eric Barron, a nationally recognized motivational speaker for management and career coaching, will be our featured presenter. Mr. Barron will address a wide range of skills and techniques needed to find/keep a job in tough economic times (or any time). Topics will include refreshing one’s resume, updating interview and communication skills, Internet job searches, and more.

As Earth Day approaches take some time to familiarize yourself with some of the pressing environmental challenges that we face in the 21st century. GreenFILE provides access to scholarly, government, and general interest publications dealing with a wide range of environmental issues such as climate change, alternative energy, biodiversity, environmental racism, and green consumption. The database takes a multidisciplinary approach to environmental concerns, incorporating literature from many fields including agriculture, environmental sciences, sociology, health, law, and technology.

The Annual CUNY Wellness Fair will take place on Thursday, Apr. 23, 2009 in the Campus Center (Building 1C) Rotunda from noon to 3:00pm. Cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure, and HIV screening will be available, as well as health information from on-campus and community resources. T-shirts and light refreshments will be available for students. This event is sponsored by Wellness and Health Promotion.
A copy of the College of Staten Island 2009 Annual Safety Report is now available. This report includes statistics for the previous three years (2008, 2007, and 2006) concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault, and other matters.
