The College of Staten Island (CSI) will honor its January 2009 Associate of Applied Science Nursing graduates on Thursday, January 15 at 2:00pm in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall. A diverse and eclectic group of 81 graduate nurses will receive their CSI Nursing Pins and take the International Council of Nurses Pledge during the traditional Nightingale lamp ceremony.
The student speaker will be Francis McCarthy, who was chosen for this honor as a result of her sterling academic record. Christian Narducci, the student chairperson and master of ceremonies for this event, will moderate the ceremony and Senator Andrew Lanza will address the graduates as the guest speaker.
The graduates have dedicated this ceremony to autism awareness and will make a donation in the name of the class of January 2009 to the Little Miracles Preschool for Autism. The officials of the preschool have been invited to attend and receive the donation. The class members will also wear flowers with an autism-awareness ribbon.
