The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is the programming board that allocates an earmarked portion of the Student Activity Fee for social, cultural, educational, and community service programs. CAB is beginning the process of identifying programs for spring 2010. If your department is planning a program for students and believes that CAB may be interested in co-sponsoring the event, please complete a Community Proposal form by Clicking Here. http://www.csi.cuny.edu/currentstudents/studentlife/cabproposals.html. Please print the completed form, fill it out, and submit it to CAB in the Office of Student Life (Building 1C, Room 201).
Please note: The deadline for Community proposals for spring 2010 as been extended to Thursday, Dec. 3 by 4:30pm.
CAB has funded numerous campus programs including academic programs such as contemporary photographer Charlotte Haslund-Christensen with the PCA department, a panel discussion on “Why Women Engineers Love Their Work” with the Women’s Center, an archives discussion on “The Genesis of the Black Gay and Lesbian Archives,” wellness programs such as the Mind and Health Fair with the Counseling Center, campus-wide programs such as the CSI Student Olympics, and the Green Dolphin Café events series.
CAB sets aside $15,000 per semester for community proposal funding. Therefore CAB will not approve funds in an amount more than $3,000 for any specific proposal. In addition, an individual department may submit as many events as they choose, but CAB will only fund one event per department. CAB will review the spring 2010 proposals that are received by the Dec. 3 deadline at the Thursday, Dec. 10 meeting of the board. Decisions regarding funding requests will be mailed over winter recess or in early spring after Student Government and the CSI Association have approved CAB recommendations.
Thank you in advance for helping to make CSI a place where things happen. We look forward to receiving your program ideas. If you have questions about the proposal process, or need assistance with your application, please contact Debi Kee at 718.982.3268 or email debi.kee@csi.cuny.edu.
