Please join the STEAM program in the Division of Science and Technology, along with the CSI Library, in celebrating the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. In honor of this revolutionary event, STEAM is hosting a mini-series of very short talks on or about Darwin’s influence on Wednesday Dec. 2 in the Library Archives (Building 1L, Room 216) from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Featured speakers will include:

-Provost William Fritz on Darwin and Geology
-Prof. Frank Burbrink (Biology) on Darwin and the quest to conquer human disease
-Prof. Mark Lewis (History) on Darwin and society
-Prof. Alyson Bardsley (English) on Darwin and literature

Librarian Amy Stempler will follow up with an introduction to works by or about Darwin available in the CSI Library.

We will conclude with refreshments including an anniversary cake.
