From Thursday, May 27 at 5:00pm through Monday, May 31, the hardware providing uninterruptable power (UPS) to the server room in Building 2A, Room 314 will be replaced. This process will disable all electrical receptacles in this room only.
By using power from outside this location, we have developed a strategy that will allow us to keep our wide area and local area networks operational, as well as our email and Web servers and the Bursar’s cashiering system. However, the wireless network, imaging for the Registrar and Financial Aid offices, Help Desk software, HPC Wiki, ACCESS, and the discussion boards for the Master Plan, Strategic Plan and College budget information will not be available. SIMS will be available but we will not be able to print to any of our SIMS printers except for the billing and transcript printers located outside 2A-314.
We plan to transfer to the new UPS system on Tuesday morning, June 1, with no disruption in service. When the transfer is complete we will bring up the remaining services.
