The College of Staten Island will have to continue to fight for their first conference win of the season, having suffered a loss to City College of New York last night, 3-0.  The Beavers breezed to a 25-13, 25-10, 25-11, win, upping their mark to 8-10 overall and 3-2 in conference play, while the Dolphins dipped to 1-8, 0-5, respectively.
Light on the attack, CSI could only muster eight kills on the entire night.  Meanwhile, CCNY notched 15 kills in game one alone, posting up a .520 attack percentage to post a solid game one win.  The Beavers added 13 kills in game two and another dozen in the third set to pace the win.
Dalliana Toussaint and Melissa Blass led the way for CCNY with 13 and 11 kills, respectively, while Alexis Kinsman set things up with 34 assists.  CSI’s Joanna Tepedino led all Dolphins with three kills on 17 attacks.  The Beavers scattered 15 service aces next to CSI’s three, notching 24 digs to CSI’s 17.
The Dolphins will be back in action on Saturday, visiting Rutgers-Newark in non-conference play at 2pm.
