The CUNY Campaign for Charitable Giving is in full swing, as Building Captains at the College of Staten Island recently gathered last Monday for an informational breakfast meeting. The captains are responsible for promoting the Campaign in the campus’s various buildings.
CSI President Dr. Tomás D. Morales spoke about the importance of raising dollars for the CUNY United Way campaign. “The size of the gift is not as important as the participation of our campus community,” noted the President. “Every gift counts toward assisting our community’s non-profit agencies. This includes the ability to designate a gift to the College through the CSI Foundation, which you can do by indicating code 1618 on Part D of the pledge form.”
Barbara Eshoo, CSI Vice President for Institutional Advancement and External Affairs and Campaign Coordinator, noted that this campaign is a wonderful way to serve those in need on Staten Island including at the College.
During the breakfast, Captains exchanged ideas for some friendly competition between buildings, individuals, and offices. In addition, after a lively discussion, the Captains decided that donors to the Campaign would be entered into a raffle for a free reserved campus parking spot for six months, providing a further incentive to the College community.
