The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) Scholarship Program is now accepting applications.
The NIAF awards various scholarships to students who exhibit outstanding academic achievement, divided between two groups: Italian American students who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievement, or students from any ethnic background majoring/minoring in Italian language or Italian studies. To qualify, applicants must fit one of these two categories, have a GPA no lower than 3.5, and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. (For the purpose of the scholarship program, to be considered “Italian American,” a student must have at least one ancestor who emigrated from Italy.)
The application deadline is Friday, March 4, 2011. For more information or to obtain an application, visit the NIAF Scholarship Website . Students interested in applying may contact Dr. Geoff Hempill at geoffrey.hempill@csi.cuny.edu or 718.982.2301 for assistance with their applications.
