After last year's success, attendees at this year's Savor the Flavors will again have the opportunity to sample some of the Island's best cuisine and support student scholarships.

The CSI Alumni Association and Supporting Sponsors Liberty Mutual and National Grid are giving the Staten Island community the chance to stimulate their taste buds, while raising funds for scholarships. “Savor the Flavors: Celebrate Our Island’s Diverse Cuisine” will be held on Sunday, March 27 in the Center for the Arts Atrium (Building 1P) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

The fundraising event is chaired by James McBratney ’05, CSI Alumni Board Member and President of the Staten Island Restaurant and Tavern Association, and features Guest Celebrity Chefs Rob Burmeister and John Sierp, from the Food Network’s Chopped, who will be on hand to judge the top-three winners for Best Dish and Best Dessert.

“Savor the Flavors” attendees will not only get to taste the signature dishes of popular Borough restaurants, but they will also gain insight on how they are prepared. There will also be much more than just food, as guests will be treated to desserts, wine tasting, beverages, raffles, and music, donated and provided by Alumni Board Member Robert Ferone ‘86, of PartyHostDJs.com.

Although “Savor the Flavors” promises to delight the palate, it’s most important contribution will be its support of students at the College, as all proceeds will go to benefit scholarships.

The list of restaurants who are generously donating their signature cuisine include: Afternoones, Alfonso’s, Angelina’s Ristorante, Arirang, Bayou, The Beer Garden, Bocelli, Bridge Tavern, Bruno Pasticceria, Cake Chef/Cookie Jar, Canlon’s Restaurant, Celebrate at Snug Harbor, Da Noi, Dosa Garden, España Restaurant, Jimmy Max (Westerleigh & Great Kills), Joe Mozz Gourmet Shop, Killmeyer’s Old Bavaria Inn, La Candela Española, The Lake Club, Manor Restaurant, Mother Mousse, Nucci’s (North & South), Paesano’s Pizzeria, Oriental Plaza, Park Café, Pepperjack Grill, R. Ippolito Distributing (specialty beers), San Rasa Sri Lankan Cuisine, South Fin Grill, Venezia, The Vanderbilt, Vino Divino (wines), and more.
