WIN OVER MEDGAR HELPS TENNIS EXTEND CONFERENCE WINS, 2-1

The Dolphins captured a 9-0 victory over Medgar Evers College on Thursday afternoon at the CSI Tennis center to extend their record to 2-4. CSI is now 2-1 in CUNY while Medgar Evers is 0-2 in both records.

CSI took two quick wins in doubles with Illona Stoyko and Alena Vedeneeva defeating Roenke Browne and Ashley Yagoda in the first flights while Faith Avevor and Marina Incherera grabbed an 8-0 win against Ja’net Goodwin and London Kiadi in seconds. The third flight of doubles was defaulted giving CSI the win.

While No. 6 singles was a default, Stoyko, Vedeneeva , Avevor and Demi-Jean Martorano all took 6-0, 6-0 victories in their 2,3,4 and 5 singles flights, respectively. Sophia Varriano was the last to finish her first singles against Roenke Browne in the well-played 6-3, 6-4 win.

The Dolphins will host Kean University on Tuesday, September 27, at 3:30  pm.
