The Center for the Arts (CFA) and the Campus Activities Board present a poetry slam with Carlos Andrés Gómez on Thursday, Mar. 1 in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Recital Hall at 2:30. Admission is free.
This 25-year-old native New Yorker is a Russell Simmons HBO Def Poet and a two-time International Poetry Slam Champion. Described as “raw and intense…a rebel Don Juan with a sensitive edge,” his work draws attention to challenging and often ignored social issues, while delivering an empowering message built on the belief that everyone is distinctly beautiful.
Advanced reservations are recommended by calling the CFA box office at 718.982.2787. However, tickets will be given out at the door.
