Oscar Wu's No. 6 flight defeat helped give CSI the final push for their 5-2 win over Brooklyn.

The #4 seeded Dolphins captured a 5-2 victory over the #5 Brooklyn College in Wednesday’s CUNYAC Quarterfinal match at the CSI Tennis Center.

CSI were up 2-1 after doubles play. Nick Zikos and Vlad Romanov defeated Matthew Micharlsen and Anthony Chan in the No. 1 flight, 8-6, while in the No. 2 spot Dan Ursomanno and Riad Hamai took an 8-4 win over Robin Varughese and Cheyne Tribbey.

Zikos and Hamai easily took the wins in the No. 1 and 2 seeds to start and put CSI up 4-1. Zikos defeated Micharlsen 6-0, 6-1 while Hamai grabbed his win by a score of Martone, 6-2, 6-0. Romanov dropped his match in the fourth spot to Tribbey, 6-1, 6-1, to close the gap for Brooklyn, 4-2.

In No. 3, Kapentanakis was down one set and was up 6-2 in the second while in the No. 5 spot Dmitriy Vituk lost his first set, 6-4, and was down 5-1, in the second. It was Oscar Wu in the No. 6 flight that gave the Dolphins the final tally for the win, defeating Marvin Gill, 6-3, 7-5.

The Dolphins move onto the semifinals on Sunday, April 29, at the National Tennis Center for a 3:00 pm contest against #1 Baruch College.
