Your help is greatly needed.

We are establishing a new initiative to help faculty and staff members of the College who have been devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

Some of our employees have experienced devastating losses as a result of the storm. Despite such personal hardships and the unthinkable challenges that follow such losses, our employees continued to work to serve our students and the campus community-at-large.

And while we continue to thank them for their dedication and ability to put our students’ needs before their own, it is hardly enough. It is our collective obligation to do more to help those who were affected and get them back on their feet.

That is why we are establishing an initiative that will assist those who have sustained severe devastation from the storm. We are in the prompt process of finalizing a program to assist our fellow co-workers with financial needs to help them acquire food, temporary housing, transportation, time off, and crisis counseling.

To help support those employees at the College of Staten Island who are in dire need, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. 100 percent of your contribution will assist those who need it most. If you can help, please send your donation by check, payable to the CSI Foundation Hurricane Sandy Employee Relief Fund and mail it to: CSI Foundation, 2800 Victory Boulevard 1A-401, Staten Island, NY, 10314. You may also contribute on line at: www.csi.cuny.edu/foundation and click on Make Your Gift Online Now.

If you are in need of such assistance, please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 718-982-2365. Confidentiality is assured. I hope that all of you and your families are safe during this difficult time and I thank you in advance for your generosity.
