The English Department, in conjunction with Staten Island OutLOUD, is presenting a CLUE-certified forum honoring the sacrifice and service of veterans on Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P)at 3:00pm.
Professor Frank Battaglia and Professor Emeritus Richard Currie will serve as panelists with Michael Sulsona, a Vietnam veteran and writer, and Joyce M. Goldstein, a licensed Psychologist and artist. The panel discussion will feature Tim O’Brien’s powerful The Things They Carried. Practical information on veterans’ resources will be provided, with discussion welcomed.
This event is part of the Big Read, funded by The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The NEA presents The Big Read in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and in cooperation with Arts Midwest.
