To help ensure that we reach as many people as possible who may need help with hurricane recovery, please share the following information with your colleagues, and also consider making a brief announcement at your next class meeting (as many CSI community members may still be without email access):

Sandy’s Closet and Sandy’s Pantry Open for Business on November 15, 2012

Thanks to the generosity of the CSI family, our students, faculty, and staff who need help reassembling their households as they recover from Hurricane Sandy are encouraged and welcome to visit Sandy’s Closet in Building 1P and Sandy’s Pantry in Building 1C beginning Thursday, Nov. 15.  

Sandy’s Closet, with separate rooms for children’s, men’s, and women’s clothing; housewares; toiletries;and non-food items, is open from 9:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. To access the closet during these hours, please call or stop by the Center for the Arts main office (Building 1P-Room 116, 718.982.2504) with your College ID card.  

Sandy’s Pantry, with food supplies for people and pets, is also open from 9:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.  To access the pantry during these hours, please call or stop by the Office of Student Life (Building 1C, Room 201, 718.982.3088) with your College ID card.  

Please note that we are still in the process of collecting the following items:

-Cleaning items (including bleach, Clorox wipes, and paper towels)

-Rubber gloves, work gloves, large plastic bags, contractor garbage bags, and face masks

-Batteries and flashlights

-Paper plates, bowls, cups, and napkins; plastic forks, knives, and spoons

-Manual can openers

-Nonperishable food items

-Baby food, diapers, and wipes

-Pet items (including dry and canned food, cat litter, food and water bowls)

-Toiletries and personal hygiene items

-WetOnes or Handi-Wipes

-Towels, sheets, and blankets

 The Drive Team encourages you to bring your donations to the collection bins located in buildings 1A, 2A, 1C, 1L, 1P, and 1R.
