The Center for Advising and Academic Success (CAAS) and the Career and Scholarship Center have developed a new program called COMPASS: Career Opportunities and Major Planning: Achieving Student Success. COMPASS is sponsoring a series of events for the fall term to help students better understand their goals, learn about majors, and meet faculty in each department.

These events are:

My Plan

Career and Scholarship will introduce students to MY Plan, a tool that allows students to evaluate their interests, skills, and values, to help them select a major and career. Two workshops are available: Tuesday, Sept. 24 in Building 1A, Room 107 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, and Wednesday, Sept. 25 in Building 1A, Room 107 from10:10am to 12:05pm.

Pathfinder

CAAS offers workshops to explore coursework requirements, and career-planning tools associated with specific majors. Forty workshops will be held during the weeks of Sept. 30 and Oct. 7 in  Building 1A, Room 107. Students can check the CLUE News or CAAS’s Website for specific dates/times.

Meet Your (MY) Major Fair

The MY Major Fair, on Wednesday, Oct. 16 in the Campus Center (Building 1C) Green Dolphin Lounge from 12:30pm to 3:30pm, is designed to help all students explore the majors available at CSI, plan their academic careers, and declare their majors. Students will meet with faculty from various departments to talk about careers and opportunities available in represented fields.

Thank you for your assistance in pointing students to resources that will help them find their direction with COMPASS.
