After a cancelation on Saturday, the College of Staten Island men’s baseball program is hoping to pick up its 2014 campaign this afternoon, hosting the St. Joseph College (Brooklyn) in a non-conference doubleheader at the Tomas D. Morales Baseball Field. The start time for the doubleheader 3:30pm. Admission to the games today are FREE and CLUE Certified (PG) for all students. The Dolphins are currently 2-3 overall, having recently completed a five-game swing in Myrtle Beach, SC that wrapped up two weeks ago. SJC enters at 1-4, having had their last 9 contests canceled or postponed due to the weather. The two teams are familiar rivals, having met for a doubleheader in each of the last six seasons. CSI owns a 9-3 overall record against the Bears, bust most recently had a six-game win streak over the Bears snapped in last year’s doubleheader. All 12 games in the all-time series have been played at CSI.
After today’s doubleheader, CSI will be back in action on Friday, hosting Montclair State University for a single game at 3:30pm.
