Soon we will come together to help celebrate survivors, remember those lost to cancer, and fight back against this insidious disease at the Relay For Life of College of Staten Island, which will take place at the CSI Track and Field on Friday, May 2 from 3:00pm to midnight.

Will you join us and help us finish the fight? Help the College of Staten Island reach our five-year cumulative goal of raising $100,000. We have approximately $20,000 to go.

Teams have already signed up and are working hard to raise funds and awareness to help the American Cancer Society and its lifesaving efforts–but it’s not too late to be a part of Relay. If you want to form a team, invite others to join, join a team, raise funds, or attend the event itself, there is still time. You can get more information by contacting Robert King Kee in the Office of Student Life at 718.982.3119 or robert.kee@csi.cuny.edu or you could sign up today online.

We’re challenging every faculty member, staff member, and student to be a hero and join the fight. This includes you. Sign up, spread awareness, raise funds, and join us in the fun and in the fight.

Action items include:

-Sign up online.

-Send emails inviting everyone you know to either join your team or to make a donation. Did you know that the top reason why people do not donate is because they never were asked? Make the simple ask today.

-Fundraise. Did you know that if you recuit ten team members who recruit ten donors each to donate $10 each, your team could potentially raise at least $1,000. Also, if you collect and fill a 16-ounce water bottle with dimes, you could raise $100.

-Like and share our updates on Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you.  We look forward to seeing you all on the track and field on Friday, May 2.
