The College of Staten Island women’s softball team is one step away from securing the CUNYAC Championship and with it, a berth into the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. The Dolphins are playing at Queens College this afternoon at 12:30pm against the winner of either Hunter College or Brooklyn College. CSI got to the final by virtue of their two wins yesterday in tournament play. CSI defeated John Jay College, 7-0, before posting a 4-2 win over Hunter College to advance. John Jay was eliminated yesterday, but Brooklyn and Hunter survived, and the winner of that game at 10:30am, will play CSI for the championship. CSI would need to win one game to claim the trophy; Brooklyn or Hunter would need to defeat CSI twice.
