Every year, we need volunteers to serve as marshals during the Commencement ceremony on Great Lawn. It’s a three-hour commitment (9:00am to noon) during which marshals are assigned to oversee specific seating areas. A marshal’s responsibility is to guide graduates to their assigned seating in an orderly fashion, and as quickly as possible, so that the ceremony can proceed. A meeting and rehearsal for marshal’s will be scheduled during Commencement Week to familiarize everyone with the details.
