The College of Staten Island will take to the pitch today at the CSI Soccer Complex in Staten Island, NY, to take on the Panthers of Purchase College in a make-up from a previous game that was suspended due to lightning. The Dolphins come into today’s match 5-6 overall and 3-0 in the CUNYAC while the Panthers are 5-3-1 overall and 2-0-1 Skyline.
The matchup between these two teams currently sits at a deadlock with the record being 2-2-1 overall. The last time these two teams met however, the Panthers were able to defeat the Dolphins 6-3 in a high scoring affair. Nicholas Bacarella has scored in four of his last five games and leads the team with six goals. As a result of Bacarella’s scoring streak the Dolphins have won five of their last six games.
The Panthers have also played well as of late, winning two of their last three games. Purchase has played two CUNYAC schools so far this year and have won both with a goal differential of 4-1. The Panthers will hope that their leading goal scorer Junior Sanguina can lead their team to victory over the Dolphins.
