College of Staten Island women’s basketball star Christina Pasaturo is enjoying a sensational start to her inaugural season, and the freshman is piling up the list of achievements, collecting her fifth-straight City University of New York Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week citation. The Dolphins posted a 1-1 week and Pasaturo was at the center of it all, leading the way both games.
Last Tuesday against Baruch College the Dolphins fell, 75-60, but Pasaturo made an impact as the Dolphins’ only player in double figures, collecting 16 points, which included three baskets from behind the arc. She also added four rebounds and a single steal in the effort. Two days later, the guard banked 33 minutes of action, collecting a team-high 17 points on 6-12 shooting that included another trio of three’s. She also added three assists and two steals in the 69-59 takeover of John Jay College.
For the season, Pasaturo is averaging a team-best 14.6 points per game and her 21 three-point baskets lead the squad. Her 5.6 rebounds per contest and 12 steals place her second on the team in those categories.
CSI is idle until December 23, when they face off against St. Joseph’s College of Brooklyn at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, at 3pm.
