The Office of Technology Systems (OTS) is embarking on a Security Awareness Program. Research shows that one of the top challenges that organizations face is making people aware that they are targets of security breaches.

OTS wants to play a key role in influencing your behavior and actions by providing relevant resources and guidance. OTS has already begun this initiative where we devoted a special security section to our Spring 2015 Newsletter and OTS Website. Now, we would like to expand our efforts and provide additional topical content on a regular basis.

As part of the program, OTS will be doing the following:

-Monthly Security Broadcast: OTS will be sending a monthly broadcast that speaks to specific security topics. This broadcast is geared for everyone, regardless of your title and role at the College. Starting in April, please look for this communication.

-Security Awareness with OTS: Mark your calendars. This event, on Thursday, Apr. 23 in Building 3N, Room 112 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, will provide important information to make you aware of security threats,

Ouch!  Ouch is the world’s leading, free security awareness newsletter designed for the common computer user. Each issue focuses on and explains a specific topic and actionable steps that people can take to protect themselves, their family, and their organization. Ouch archives are easily accessible from the OTS Website.

Please take the time out of your busy schedule to take advantage of these resources. I hope to see you at the Security Awareness event.
