Postgame Interview – The College of Staten Island’s Baseball program took on Mount Saint Mary’s College tonight in a single 9 inning game on the Tomas D. Morales field in Staten Island, NY.  The Dolphins would go on to win tonight’s game by a score of, 6-2, to improve their record to, 13-9 overall while the Blue Knights dropped to 9-10 on the season.

The Knights were able to put a run on the scoreboard in the first inning however, the Dolphins were able to immediately answer right back with two runs of their own when both Nick Delprete and Elijah Rodriguez got on the bases via a single and a walk.  Rodriguez was able to advance all the way to third in a failed pickoff attempt which led to a throwing error by the first baseman as he over threw the second baseman into center field which allowed Rodriguez to comfortably reach third.
Delprete reached third in a similar manner as he was stealing second the catcher over threw the shortstop into center field allowing Delprete to round second and land on third base.  Delprete’s single drove in Rodriguez for the tying run which was immediately followed by Frank Muzzio driving in Delprete which would eventually be the games winning run as the score would never be tied again nor would the lead change.

Frank Sconzo scored the only run of the second inning when he crushed the ball over the left field wall for his first career home run.
