Thank you for your participation in SPLASH: CSI’s New Student Orientation program, and for helping to welcome our new students to the College. Volunteers from across the campus, who have assisted with the orientation program this summer, have been instrumental to its implementation.
In continuing these efforts, I write to you at this time for your support and participation in the remaining orientation programs for Fall 2015. Volunteers are still needed for supplemental advisement and registration, which takes places on day two of each orientation program. During these sessions, volunteers assist new students with understanding their New Student Advisement Worksheet and registering for their General Education courses through CUNY First. Volunteers are not expected to advise students, but rather to serve as liaisons between the students and the professional advisement staff.
The dates and times of the remaining orientation programs for advisement and registration are outlined below:

Training is always provided to anyone interested in assisting with this important function during orientation. If you are interested in training, please contact dina.grant@csi.cuny.edu in the Center for Advising and Academic Success (CAAS) for more information. If you are able to volunteer for supplemental advisement and registration, please consult with your department supervisor. After receiving permission to participate, please email vicki.lehrer@csi.cuny.edu in the Office of New Student Programs, indicating the dates and times that you are available to assist.
