The College of Staten Island men’s soccer team will continue its season today, traveling to Madison, NJ, to take on The College of New Jersey in the Drew University Fall Classic.  CSI dropped its opener on Wednesday to Purchase College and will seek some redemption this afternoon over a Lions team that is coming in 1-0 after a season-opening win of its own.

Last Year’s Result:  TCNJ won, 2-0

Players To Watch (CSI):  Philip Lefkowitz posted six shots in the loss to Purchase on Wednesday, including the team’s lone goal in the second half.  Peter Hanna played all 90 minutes the last time these two teams played, one of only four players to do so.
Players To Watch (TCNJ):  Michael Kassick posted seven shots, five on goal in TCNJ’s 5-0 win over York College this week, and scored a goal.  He scored in TCNJ’s 2-0 win over CSI last year as a reserve player.  Look for him to be a disruptive force at the top.

News and Notes:  CSI out-shot Purchase on Wednesday, 20-9, but mustering up goals was hard to come by.  In their meeting against TCNJ last year, CSI recorded 9 shots but only one on goal.  CSI has never scored against the Lions, as TCNY has won both meetings by scores of 4-0 and 2-0.  Today is the first time the two teams are meeting on a neutral site.
