The College of Staten Island men’s and women’s swimming & diving units enjoyed one of their finest competitive seasons a year ago, and the units will be back in the pool in late October, setting a course towards continued progression and a CUNYAC Championship. The teams have released their competitive schedules, and the home-heavy schedule promises its share of great action.
CSI’s schedule will start with an intrasquad Black vs. Blue Meet on Friday October 23, followed by the squad’s first ever Alumni Meet the next day. The competitive season then starts off with a visit to Queens College to take on the Knights on November 2. CSI’s home and CUNYAC opener follows four days later on November 6 against Brooklyn College at 6pm at the CSI Sports & Recreation Center.
CSI’s schedule then features two more meets in November before a pair of women’s-only meets in early December against John Jay College and Hunter College. A trio of meets occur in January, including Senior Night on January 21 in their home finale against Adelphi University.
The CUNYAC Championship takes place February 5-7 at Lehman College in the Bronx, NY. The CSI men won back-to-back championships last season and will be defending their title, while the women placed third and set multiple school and meet records at last year’s event. Two weeks after the conference championship, CSI will participate in the Metropolitan Swimming & Diving Championships at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ.
All CSI home meets are FREE and offer PG-CLUE credit for all students.
