The College of Staten Island women’s volleyball squad picked up their sixth straight loss this morning when they traveled to Camden, NJ for a tri-match against Rutgers-Camden and Wilkes University. CSI fell to 5-10 with the pair of losses this morning.

CSI hit -.200 in their first game of the day against Rutgers-Camden which led to (8-25, 12-25, 6-25) score lines. The Dolphins had just six total kills in this match, three of which were credited to Selma Kolenovic. Staten Island committed 18 errors in this contest seven were committed by Ashley Notaro for a -.400 hit percentage. CSI scored a total of just 26 points through three games which was their lowest output of the season thus far.

Poor passing by the Dolphins and the inability to stop the Raptors’ serves ultimately led to the Dolphins’ fall this morning as they only recorded two assists while tallying up 14 receiving errors.

Camden was unstoppable this morning as they hit .386 with 35 kills to just eight errors in the match.

The Dolphins hit better in their second game of the morning but it was not enough to stop their losing skid as they would fall to Wilkes University 3-0 (12-25, 12-25, 11-25). The women upped their hit percentage to -.025 in their match against Wilkes but that was not enough to garner a much needed victory.

Staten Island played much better defense the second game as they recorded 57 digs as a team led by Vanessa Reyes with 14. Brittany Minondo recorded seven assists in this game after tallying just two in their game against Camden.

Kolenovic and Rosamarie Gonzalez led the Dolphins with four kills each.

The Dolphins are back in CUNYAC action on Monday when they travel to Brooklyn, NY to take on Baruch College and Medgar Evers College at 9am/11am.
