The College of Staten Island women’s swimming and diving program has had a good lay-off, and will get back into the pool tonight to continue their slate of matches against CUNYAC-rivals John Jay College.  CSI is 1-4 this season, and will look to get back into the win column after falling in their last CUNYAC test against Baruch College.

Players To Watch (CSI): CSI’s Ewa Wojciechowska is CSI’s top point-getter this season and she leads the team with three first-place finishes.  Look for her to try and sweep her events tonight.  Naomi Gaggi has been a big cog in the CSI wheel this year, she leads the team with a total of 10 top-three finishes this season and is the second-highest point- earner on the squad.
Players To Watch (JJC):  Bokey Wong has had a great start to the season for the Bloodhounds and is coming off of a meet where she collected three first-place finishes in a narrow team loss to Bard College.  Look for Kaylie Bruce to also be a force.  Bruce swept the Butterfly and Breaststroke competitions in John Jay’s last meet and will look to parlay that run against CSI tonight.
News and Notes: Both teams are in identical three game-meet losing streaks and will look to turn the tide tonight.  John Jay’s CUNYAC win came against York College and they fell to Hunter College.  CSI defeated Brooklyn College and fell to Baruch.  So far, the teams have shared no common opponents.  CSI is 8-3 all-time against John Jay, and have won the last three meets.  CSI’s last loss to JJC came back in 2011-12, but John Jay has not defeated CSI at their own pool since way back in 2004, their very first meeting, 55-40.
