After a restful holiday break, the College of Staten Island will dive back in the pool this afternoon for the Bob Mowerson Sprint Meet held at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex this at 12 Noon. It will be their first action since a dual meet against Lehman College on December 18, and it’s part of a week-long trek by the team for training and play in Florida.

Players To Watch (CSI Men): Tim Sweeney has been the primary weapon for CSI this season and he will compete in the 100-yard Freestyle, 50-yard Butterfly and 50-yard Freestyle.  Roberto Hidalgo is seeded nicely in his events of the 100-yard Freestyle, 50-yard Breaststroke and 50-yard Freestyle as well.  Derek Villa is hoping for a good run in his freestyle and butterfly events as well.
Players To Watch (CSI Women): Ewa Wojciechowska will take center stage in both the 50- and 100-yard Freestyle events as well as the 50-yard Butterfly, and look for strong runs from Kelly Walsh in the 50-yard Butterfly and 50-yard Backstroke events.  Dakota Dawkins will highlight the race in the 50-yard Breaststroke event and will also race in the 50-yard Freestyle.
News and Notes: The Bob Mowerson Meet is divided into two sections, a sprint and relay race.  CSI is competing in the sprint portion, a meet consisting of 14 events in total.  Swimmers from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III perform in the race.  The Dolphins started their training trip to Florida on Sunday and will do so until the close of the week.
